Heavy Chains

Cold heart pulled apart
Can't help feeling lost
Makeshift happiness
Bound in heavy chains, knee deep in the ground
Can't stand the withdrawal
Fall asleep off a pill and dream of nothing at all
Feel my will growing weak
Tossing and turning in my sleep
Succumb to the loss
Self-help, self-sabotage
Fist filled with relief
The result is low and the high is cheap
Can't seem to help myself
Can't seem to hold my grip
Put all my faith into that ledge
But I know myself and I know I'll slip

Frozen

I've been holding on to a memory
So close, but yet so far
I've been blinded by the heat
Through these sleepless nights
I hold myself down
Reappear to stoke the flame
When I don't want you around
Can't seem to appreciate what I have within my reach
Try to fortify the walls, but your pretty face still seems to breach
Don't ask me how I've been
I won't repeat myself no more
I guess nobody wins
Ain't a beam of light in a darkened place
I can see it in your eyes when you're lying to my face
Is it any wonder?
It should come as no surprise
Go through that revolving door and come out encased in ice
Can't seem to kick you out; stuck on me like a leech
Try to fortify the walls, but your pretty face still seems to breach
Don't ask me how I've been
I won't repeat myself no more
I guess nobody wins

Sink
01:50
|
|||
The air is thick and I can't breathe
Letting go of misery
The hole is dug, my coffin's made
The next step is up to me
Afraid to step, afraid to slip
With the reaper around the bend
His evil eyes locked onto me
Guiding me towards the end
Can't let you follow me
Can't let you make me sink
Jumping hurdles in this life
I've been watching my step as I'm walking the line
Weighing out life and death
Who would care at all and who would regret
There's a haze in my eyes
There's a voice in my head speaking lies
Venomous directions
I shouldn't listen
Can't let you follow me
Can't let you make me sink
